I graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 1983 with a B.S. in Psychology. After working in the social services field for a couple of years, my husband and I embarked on a new adventure, purchasing a small business making tofu in Hilo, Hawaii. For 23 years we lived and worked there, raising our 2 children and enjoying a very good life. In 2010 it was time to make a move, and we sold the business and returned to the Rogue Valley where I grew up.
Embarking on a major career change, I attended and graduated from the Ashland Institute of Massage in 2011. During the 650 hour program I received training in Swedish massage, used for relaxation and health maintenance, as well as the deep tissue techniques of Myofascial Release(MFR) and Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT), which use more direct pressure to go deeper into muscle tissue to release restrictions and pain. After graduation, I began building my practice with a specialization in working with Elder clients, as well as Oncology and Hospice patients. I have a particular interest in, and love for, working with those living with dementia. My continuing education courses have been focused on techniques that particularly lend themselves to work with this clientele, and have included an additional 55 hours to become a Certified Compassionate Touch ® Practitioner in 2013, and completion of a 505 hour program to become a Registered Practitioner of Ortho-Bionomy ® in 2019.
I currently see clients at 940 Town Centre Drive, Suite B, Medford Oregon. In addition, I work as a contractor for Asante, working with Oncology patients at the Heimann Cancer Center, where oncology massage sessions are offered in our treatment room, and hand/foot massages are available for patients receiving treatment in the infusion rooms.
